Electronic Design is more than a schematic and a PCB layout. Price, availability, product change notifications, certifications and more external data have an influence on the decisions, which components an engineer can select for the design. The speed how fast these information about electronic components are changing over it's lifetime is increasing and might even change during the development process.

Electronic Data Management (EDM) solutions help getting and maintaining this meta data of electronic components. To automate this process a central library with standardized fields for each category of compenents is the central part.

Platform Solutions

Part Management

Quickly access, search, and update part data / parametric data. You can streamline component research, introduce new and alternate parts. Data integrity is maintained with user access roles. Part Management enables early visibility of lead time, obsolescence, supply chain information, and change notifications (PCN) information directly in PCB tool in real-time. You can select components with search by parametric data for millions of available parts online.

BOM Management

A Bill of Material (BOM) for an electronic design might contain precise information of the component to be used. It is also possible, that some generic components are described just with some minimal attributes like: 10Ω, 5%, 0603 and an approved SET of manufacturers. The BOM will have in such case multiple entries for one part. OMNYA supports the import of PCB boards saved in IPC-2581 format and graphical cross probing between components listed in BOM and components displayed on PCB preview.

Library Management

Centralized and shared access to one component library across the organization enables the selection of available and approved parts. Out of date data is avoided, information is keep up-to-date. OMNYA provides a unique library management with version control for schematic symbols and footprints.

Project Management

If you’re working in a collaborative environment, you can check projects in and out from local and remote servers. Checking out a project is the equivalent of declaring “I’m working on this file now - don’t touch it!” When a project is checked out, the name of the person who checked out the project is displayed in the project panel, along with a red check mark (if a team member checked out the project) or green check mark (if you checked out the project) next to the project’s name. Checking in a project makes the project available for other team members to check out and edit. When you check in a project after editing it, your local version becomes read-only and a lock symbol appears beside the file in the project panel to prevent you from making unwanted changes.

CAD-FlowManager provides an environment, flexibly adapted to existing company processes, for small and medium design teams to standardize and automate design workflows. Automatic notifications via emails and to-do lists indicate tasks to be processed. Users are assigned to function groups (roles) to make data accessible to colleagues with the same roles when sick or on vacation.
