OrCAD PCB Design

OrCAD is a software product family for professional PCB design, printed circuit board (PCB) layout, simulation, and routing. OrCAD PCB Editor is powered by the Cadence Allegro engine and offers you fast and predictable results. OrCAD can be used in a constraint driven design methodology, where design rules are managed in the Constraint Manager. These rules which are captured while entering the schematic and are checked in real time as design rule checks (DRC).

PCB layout and high-speed routing is supported with a lot of automatization, which makes your design very efficient and reliable. With OrCAD you can produce a manufacturable board design faster.

OrCAD is a well known tool for years, so a complete eco system with reference designs, schematic symbols, PCB footprints, component information, apps, and TCL-enhancements are available in the designer community.

The schematic entry module OrCAD Capture is one of the world's most widespread software for capturing and documenting of electrical circuits. Outstanding, how simple and intuitive the design intentions are be entered. OrCAD Capture uses flat or hierarchical circuit diagrams. Design rules can be captured in the Constraint Manager for online rule checks in the PCB layout.

OrCAD Capture CIS

OrCAD Capture CIS connects directly to relational databases (such as SQL, Access) and database management systems via an ODBC interface. Thus, the search in the Component Browser extends to metadata such as price or PDF data sheets. The data of the connected databases is accessed. Part numbers, EOL information or second source information can be managed centrally and displayed via the connection in Capture CIS.

OrCAD PCB Designer Standard

OrCAD PCB Designer Standard is a software package, which offers a very favorable entry into professional printed circuit board design with a price of 2.500 € (including 1 year maintenance). The PCB software already has the schematic entry module OrCAD Capture and OrCAD PCB Editor with integrated Constraint Manager. The scalable OrCAD / Allegro PCB platform provides investment protection for the user, as increasing technical requirements based on the same data base can be used to upgrade to more powerful Allegro licenses.

With the function "place replicate", similar circuit elements can be identified in the circuit diagram on the basis of the netlist structure and the modules can be easily duplicated including routing information. The corresponding components of the modules are assigned automatically.

Maximum de-rating of components can be determined, thus make a statement about the component load and get statements about the types of load: thermal at maximum current and highest possible voltage, conduction of the junction temperature in °C or the thermal contact resistances jC and jA, as they occur in the circuit.
